Storage Tank Management
Abstract
The Board of Broward County Commission retained GeoTech to conduct storage tank upgrade work for multiple Broward County Sheriffs Office (BSO) facilities which included the following: BSO Fleet Maintenance which involved the removal of three 20,000 gallon single walled USTs and the installation of one 25,000 gallon and one 10,000 gallon double-walled USTs; BSO Main Jail Facility which involved the abandonment of one 4,000 gallon single-walled UST and the installation of one 4,000 gallon double-walled AST; and BSO Stockade Facility which involved the abandonment of one 1,000 gallon single-walled UST and the installation of two 500 gallon double-walled ASTs.
Discussion and Conclusion
GeoTech, as a Prime Contractor, provided full turn-key service to prepare engineering plans, permits, closure assessment, and installation of the new UST or AST systems. All work was conducted in accordance to all local, county, state, and federal regulations, and under GeoTechs PSSC and Engineering Lisences. Soil and Groundwater assessment was conducted by GeoTech Geologists. The Tank Closure Assessment Activity determined that no soil and groundwater contamination was identified at the site. The entire scope of work was completed in 45 days (July 2010), on schedule and within the required budget, without any additional expenditures.

Coral Springs Auto Mall retained GeoTech for the purpose of upgrading their current UST system to an AST system. GeoTech abandoned one (1) 8,000 gallon single walled fiberglass UST and installed one (1) 10,000 gallon doubled walled AST at the Coral Springs Auto Mall facility located in Coral Springs, Florida.
