GeoTech provides efficient, safe, and cost effective remediation of hazardous and non-hazardous materials and petroleum compounds. Our experience with remediation and construction spans the full spectrum of services and technologies available in today's market. We offer a completely integrated engineering and construction team, experienced in building value into our solutions to your problems.

Soil Remediation

GeoTech staff has extensive experience implementing cost-effective engineering methods for properly remediating contaminated soil. In developing alternatives specific to our client's needs, GeoTech considers all factors involved, including the type and extent of contamination, soil characteristics, and appropriate legislation. GeoTech is provides in-house engineering capabilities allowing us to keep costs low and pass the savings on to our client.

Excavation and Disposal

Based on the volume of soil, type of contaminant, availability of space, time constraints, soil conditions and/or the disruption of businesses, some cases may present themselves where excavation and disposal of contaminated soils may be the most practical and economical alternative available. Our project experience and knowledge of local landfill procedures allows for rapid profiling and disposal acceptance of contaminated materials.

Enhanced Bioremediation

GeoTech has the capability of applying biodegradation methods to mitigate hydrocarbon contaminants in both stockpiled soil and in-situ. This technique involves adding nutrients oxygen and microbes to contaminated soil in order to increase the growth of a bacterium that naturally degrades contaminants and is successful in reducing contaminants to non-detectable levels for acceptance at a Class III disposal facility.

Soil Aeration

The aeration of soil is an extremely cost-effective approach for remediation that is dependent upon the nature of the soil contamination and the applicable regulations governing air quality at the aeration site. GeoTech offers a complete program for aerating soils that includes excavation, placement and berming of soils, dicing of contaminated soil, soil sampling and analysis, and appropriate air monitoring in accordance with all local regulations.

Soil Vapor Extraction

Soil vapor extraction is applicable where volatile hydrocarbon contamination exists in permeable (sandy) soil. This method of remediation is accomplished by installing vadose wells to allow extraction of the hydrocarbons through enhanced, in situ volatilization. Recapturing or eliminating the hazardous materials in extracted air is typically accomplished through the use of an air scrubber, carbon filter, or other air pollution abatement devices.

GeoTech provides a complete soil vapor extraction service that includes the engineering design, installation of wells, installation of extraction system, operation, monitoring, maintenance and reports, as required.

GeoTech has the ability to evaluate, install, operate, monitor, design and maintain a site-specific groundwater remediation system. GeoTech's staff has experience with water treatment systems which use air stripping, carbon adsorption, hydrocarbon recovery, mechanical or gravity separation, biological treatment, ion exchange, reverse osmosis, and chemical treatment.

Groundwater Remediation

Groundwater remediation systems typically are selected on the basis of a variety of parameters including the characteristics of the aquifer, type and distribution of contaminant, and the relative toxicity of the contaminant. Groundwater is monitored routinely to evaluate the efficiency of the remediation system. This information is condensed into a report to allow the regulatory inspectors to further evaluate and monitor the cleanup process.

Our experience includes the following types of treatment systems:

  • Bio-reclamation
  • Hydraulic Barriers
  • Physical Containment
  • Pump and Treat
