Phase I

GeoTech provides Phase I Environmental Site Assessments for single-site and multi-state mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. All assessments are performed in accordance with the most current ASTM standards, and recognized environmental standards by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for your protection), Subpart A SOP 50-10(4)(B). Typical elements of a Phase I include:

  • All the elements of a Transaction Screen
  • Title search or assessor records review for a 50-year period
  • Topographic map review
  • Soils survey review
  • Zoning map review
  • Aerial photography review for a 50-year period

Some federally funded projects also require a National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) checklist review as part of the Phase I ESA. The content of the NEPA checklist was developed by the USEPA to report potential adverse environmental impacts on plants, animals and cultural sites. The HUD Environmental Assessments (EA) form preparation requires determining factors typical in a NEPA review. As a result, GeoTech can provide the necessary NEPA documentation in the report.
