Supporting ISO 14000 Efforts

GeoTech's knowledge and experience in developing environmental management programs (EMS) and evaluating compliance status enables us to offer tailored EHS programs that include ISO 14000 support. Our environmental professionals are actively involved in the ISO 14000 development process and understand the requirements, regulations, and business systems necessary to implement ISO 14000.

Evaluating and Controlling Workplace Hazards

By developing and implementing a structured approach to EHS issues, companies can easily achieve and maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. GeoTech's Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIHs) and Certified Safety Professionals (CSPs) provide a full range of EHS, industrial hygiene, and training services designed to protect employees and the environment. Our personnel can identify compliance issues and implement corrective measures before employee exposure or regulatory action occurs.

Industrial Hygiene Surveys

Our CIHs evaluate facilities, identify potential exposure issues, and provide recommendations for corrective action. Our professionals use area and personal exposure monitoring evaluations to quantify employee exposures in order to determine the potential for adverse health effects. Quality control is accomplished using National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) methodology.

Regulatory Compliance Audits

GeoTech can help clients obtain a comprehensive analysis of compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) regulations and best management practices. Our audits are designed to identify potential exposures, hazardous conditions, and inadequate training that could result in violations.

Job Hazard Analyses

GeoTech's industrial hygienists perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and consider all aspects of the job/work tasks, including process design, procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE), and training requirements. GeoTech defines the major tasks of each process, identifies the physical, chemical, and ergonomic hazards associated with each step, defines the PPE required, defines the required training, and recommends procedures or process/equipment modifications to minimize or mitigate hazards.

Hazard Control

Engineering controls and changes in work procedures can help reduce the risk of injury and illness. GeoTech's experts design and help implement engineering controls such as, ventilation systems, sound barriers, and work stations. Our CIHs also help evaluate the possibility of using less hazardous materials in your process to reduce risk

Safety and Health Training Programs

GeoTech's approach to Safety and Health training programs provides a focus on the trainees' level of understanding and use of the information through innovative presentation techniques. Training in respiratory protection, hearing conservation, blood borne pathogens, hazardous materials transportation, motor vehicle safety, confined space, emergency plan, hazard communication, HAZWOPER, and supervisor safety are among the programs we offer.

Health and Safety Project Oversight

GeoTech provides on-site professionals and technicians to serve as Health and Safety Coordinators for complex field operations, including hazardous waste site remediation, investigation, and construction projects. Our CIHs prepare comprehensive site-specific Health & Safety Plans, and GeoTech's Health & Safety professionals provide air monitoring, on-site training, and site control.

Indoor Air Quality Services

GeoTech's professionals conduct indoor air quality surveys to evaluate airborne contaminants that may be contributing factors to poor air quality within office environments. GeoTech uses NIOSH / OSHA recommended approaches and employs state-of-the-art technology to identify and quantify chemical and biological agents in industrial and office environments.

EHS Compliance Auditing

To assist in meeting compliance obligations, GeoTech has developed an environmental compliance audit (ECA) process that serves as a valuable tool for identifying and responding to areas of potential regulatory non-compliance. We provide recommendations and strategies to assist in developing a system that addresses today's requirements while providing a foundation for long-term compliance.

Pollution Prevention/Waste Minimization

GeoTech has worked with small to large manufacturers throughout the United States to develop and implement pollution prevention (P2) and waste minimization programs. By systematically evaluating facility operations and recommending better management practices, we have helped effectively implement waste minimization programs to reduce environmental risk. For each waste stream identified as a candidate for further evaluation during the audit process, GeoTech evaluates potential waste reduction processes, technologies, and/or operational changes.
