Abstract
Marine Exhaust System, Inc. retained GeoTech to create a Corporate Industrial Safety Program to ensure that all employees were operating in compliance with all Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (OSHA) Regulations.
Discussion and Conclusion
GeoTech first conducted a site inspection to observe Marine Exhaust Systems operation. GeoTech proceeded to identify all hazards in the workplace that posed any potential danger to the employees health and/or safety. GeoTech then wrote a Corporate Industrial Safety Manual that established an entire system of rules, regulations, and standard operating procedures that would ensure a safe and healthy workplace. GeoTechs Program included: new Company Safety and Health Program Guidelines, Written Programs, a Safety Committee to ensure that the Program was being followed, Routine Safety and Health Inspections, Scheduled Safety Meetings, a protocol for accident and incident reporting and investigations, general safety rules for all departments, recordkeeping requirements, and disciplinary actions for Willful Unsafe Acts. This Corporate Industrial Safety Program is still used by Marine Exhaust System as a safety rulebook today.
